Having a Virus can be a very troublesome problem. That is why having an antivirus program and scanning your system frequently is a very good preventative measure. There are many programs that scan and find these little pests. The one discussed in this tutorial is AVG Free Antivirus.

Step 1. Double Click the AVG Free Icon on the desktop.

Step 2. Next you should check for updates. Click check for updates.

If you are on dial-up internet access then connect to the internet first. After the update is complete you may disconnect from the internet. (Refer to figure 1)

Step 3. Now you can start the scan by clicking the Scan Computer button. (Refer to figure 1)
