Ad ware can slow down a computer to a crawl. There are program that scan and find these little pests. The one discussed in these instructions is Ad-aware SE.

Step 1. Double Click the Ad-Aware SE Personal Icon on the desktop.

Step 2. Next you should check for updates. Click check for updates now. If you are on dial-up internet access then connect to the internet first. After the update is complete you may disconnect from the internet. Refer to figure 1.

Step 3. Now you can start the scan by clicking the start button at the bottom right of the window. Or you can push the Scan now button on the upper left. Both buttons do the same thing. Refer to figure 1.
